Before school on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th November 2022 school council sold poppies to the parents and children of Saint Joseph's Infant and Junior Schools. This started our special celebration as we remember the people who gave their lives during conflict. The children also created their own poppies and made these into wreaths. These were placed together in the playground at 11am on November 11th as we remembered the fallen soldiers together.
Teaching Remembrance is key to understanding how modern diverse Britain was created and the shared heritage of service and sacrifice across all the UK’s communities. It also allows us to better comprehend what those who served, both on the front-line and at home, went through.
